Mobility solution specialists, Leopard Systems and Hyundai Motor Company joined forces for the consecutive time at Melbourne’s Motor Show held in March 2008. The Hyundai Sales team utilised Motorola’s latest MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) equipped with Hyundai’s custom CRM and Sales software program, written exclusively by Leopard Systems. The solution was created to help relieve one of the major obstacles of busy motor show / dealership environments to ensure highly detailed information across all models is available “at the touch of a button” for prospective purchasers.
“Motor shows are high-volume environments, where our sales team requires information such as pricing and detailed specifications on the entire range ‘in an instant’. Leopard Systems devised a solution to transpose all specifications, options and pricing throughout the range onto the compact MC35 device. Resulting in ‘on the spot’, accurate data on the entire Hyundai fleet” comments Ian Juster, GM of Hyundai Motor Company for Victoria and Tasmania.
Leopard Systems have been creating mobility solutions for Australia’s leading organizations for the last 15 years. Their diverse portfolio covers mobility solutions for transport and logistics, retail, field service, manufacturing, warehousing and the healthcare industry. Companies including Australia Post, Country Road and Coles Express have benefited from the dynamic mobility solutions Leopard Systems has put in place.
The benefits for Hyundai using this mobility approach are multi-faceted. The MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant supports EDGE GPRS/GSM, boasts mobile voice and data communication capabilities, image capture and bar code scanning, right at the fingertips of mobile workers. Being the most durable and compact mobile device in the Motorola (formerly Symbol) suite, the MC35 leaves other “consumer” devices in their midst.
When it comes to data, the MC35 provides field workers with a reliable connection to email, messaging, the Internet and business systems, as well as comprehensive data capture and PDA-like functionality. With the power of integrated voice and data, mobile workers can easily monitor and respond to the many forms of business communications — from phone calls and email, to instant and text messages. Full email functionality also provides the ability to download and view attachments, vital for sales representatives out on the road.
Within a busy Motor Show or dealership environment the ability to accurately quote models with varied configurations “in an instant” is of huge advantage. All leads and quotes are centrally-managed and linked direct to each sales-professional and region, to ensure no gaps occur in the sales process. This fool-proof approach is extremely beneficial when hiring promotion staff, as the easy-to-navigate touch screen device provides information at your fingers tips, thus reducing the need for intensive sales training and error during the show.
“We have found using the MC35 devices extremely useful during the show and see a real need for them with our dealership staff and state managers. Being connected with Head Office during dealer visits is essential, the added benefit of the 2MP camera alleviates the need to carry a camera and a phone / PDA device, thus providing significant cost savings long-term” says Ian.
Managing Director of Leopard Systems, Alex Koumaras comments, “Hyundai are our first automotive client to use this approach, yet have experienced only a small percentage of its capabilities. We specialise in complete end-2-end mobile data integration. Through using mobile technology dealerships could ultimately influence and improve the supply-chain for the automotive industry. It is an exciting opportunity for both marques as the demand for more streamlined efficient business practice increases”.
